Tin Can Bay is situated at the southern end of the Great Sandy Strait, in the Tin Can Inlet, at the bottom of Fraser Island. The area provides for great boating in a wide variety of weather conditions and has a great reputation for fishing.

Getting Here By Boat

Be aware that water depth in some areas is limited to 2.1m. On entering Snapper Creek keep green markers approximately 10 to 15 meters off your starboard side. Keep the vessels on swing-moorings on your starboard side as the green marker is a bit hard to see. Let us know you're coming and we'll assist in any way we can.
Getting Here By Car
Travelling north from Brisbane on the Bruce highway, as you come to Gympie, turn right onto Tin Can Bay Road towards the coast. From there it’s a 35 minute drive to Tin Can Bay.
Southbound travellers on the Bruce Highway should go through Maryborough. The Cooloola Coast road will take you to Tin Can Bay Road where you go left and follow it to Tin Can Bay.
Once in Tin Can Bay, look for the left turn at Oyster Parade. Tin Can Bay Marina is on the corner of Oyster Parade and Emperor Street.
Acccess to Airports
Hervey Bay airport is 110km drive to the north. Hire cars are available at the airport. Maroochydore airport is 120km to the south and have daily services with the major airlines to Sydney, Melbourne and many regional airports. Facilities and services at this airport are more comprehensive than Hervey Bay. Brisbane International airport is 220km south down the highway.
Rail
Gympie is the closest Rail Station 50km to the west. A city service runs out of Brisbane, (and from Brisbane Airport) as well as Country Trains heading to and from the north. Visit the Queensland Rail website here.
